The objectives of Rural Eye Health Programme are to improve vision-related quality of life through strengthened eye health systems with a focus on poor and deprived sections of the society. In this programme primary activities include systems strengthening of eye care services, service delivery, multilevel advocacy, generation of awareness on eye health among rural community.

Sightsavers School Eye Health programme aims to screen children in Government schools to identify and prevent eye diseases and vision impairments among children that affect learning outcomes. Overtime, the Government has appreciated the efforts by recognizing the efficacy of our model and in a major feat for the school eye health programme.

The programme aims to strengthen the availability, accessibility, and affordability of eye health care services in the slum areas of cities. The objectives of the programme are to conduct eye screening camps for the target community and drive referrals to secondary base hospitals, set up a mobile vision centre and improve access to eye health care services in the target locations and

The goal of Truckers Eye Health Programme is to ensure access to quality refractive error services & referral services among the occupational drivers and thereby promoting road safety. The main objectives of the program are to increase the uptake of eye health services by trucker drivers suffering with uncorrected refractive error and increase referral services among the occupational truck driving community in the target locations. It also creates accessible and smooth connections for spectacle distribution among the project beneficiaries. All of this is done and achieved by establishing static centres and conducting outreach eye camps at fleet locations.

The programme prioritizes technical support to Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) for training and capacity building of general teachers to address education needs of the Children with Disabilities (CWDs) with special focus on children with visual impairment. The programme aims to demonstrate scalable approaches to strengthen systems and build a cogent institutional response. The focus of the programme is to expedite quality of learning outcomes for the CWDs and secure enablement through teacher training, ICT promotion, technical, infrastructural and community support.

The programme is being implemented in partnerships with local NGOs along with the respective state National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) units or with the state social justice and disability empowerment departments. The programme seeks to ensure that Persons with disabilities have equal right and opportunities in an inclusive environment.
